Location
The property is located in Tihany. The Benedictine Abbey founded in 1055, the breathtaking panorama and many other tourist sights make the picturesque Tihany peninsula one of the most visited places in the Balaton Uplands regions. The Tihany wine region is famed the world over for its local wines and wine cellars. Hotel Kastely is situated in a nature protected green belt extending over nearly 6 hectares, comprising three hotels with own beach and parking.
Hotel
Sited in the middle of a tree-filled park, Hotel Kastely was built in 1926 as the summer residence of Archduke Joseph Habsburg and to this day it still reflects a turn-of-the-century atmosphere. Facilities and amenities include a bar operating in the 'Blue Salon', a sauna, tennis courts, minigolf, billards, bicycle rental, tended park grounds, beach, sunbathing, swimming, surfing (tuition available), canoeing, paddle boats, rowing, a playground and a paddling pool for children, cash exchange, safe at the front desk (USD 1/night), laundry. The restaurant of the hotel is at the neighbouring Hotel Park***.
Rooms
Because the hotel has preserved the original architecture, the arrangement of each room differs, but they all have the same standard of furnishing: all guest rooms have private bathroom, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, fridge. Room service available. Pets welcome.
