Location

The property is located on the famous Tihany-Peninsula - a nature reserve since 1952 -, directly at the beach. The peninsula's flora, fauna and subtropic microclimate creates an ideal atmosphere for tourists who long for an active holiday as well as for tourists who only want to relax. Paradise for people who love making trips, cycling and swimming.

The picturesque village of Tihany is nearly 1000 years old. It was established by Andrew I, Hungarian king, who assigned it to his and his family's burial-ground. It was he, too, who founded the Benedictine monastery, which has remained the cultural and spiritual center of the village up to the present. The open air museum presents the fisher and rustic traditions of the region. Several beaches, sports facilities, restaurants, places of entertainment and hospitable residents are awaiting visitors.

Club Tihany

Club Tihany was established in 1986. The property's full area covers over 31 acres / 12,6 hectares of land. It provides two kinds of accommodations:

Hotel Club Tihany****

Seven-storey building with elevator. Open 24 h. Several restaurants and bars, drug store (natural products, skin and body care, drugs), boutiques (accessories, toys, ceramics, needlework, souvenirs), supermarket (food, fruits, vegetables), newsagent's (post cards, newspapers, magazines, maps, books, travel guides), cash exchange, safe at the reception, free private parking. No pets. The restaurant, the lounge, the indoor swimming pool and the boutiques are airconditioned.

Hotel Rooms

Nice, comfortable rooms. Bathroom (w/bath), satellite television, radio, minibar, direct telephone. Heating between September 30 and May 01.

Animation

Club Tihany offers several opportunities to make your holiday unforgettable. The animateurs help you get to know and use these opportunities. Animation starts every Sunday with a welcome of the guests by the hotel management and the animateurs. The guests will be taken to a tour around the property, thus they can experience, what-where-when is going on.

The mornings start with sport, e.g. funny games on the volleyball field, which prepare for the grand tournament on the weekend. Or take some aerobic exercises on the beach in ideal surroundings. Meanwhile, the youth can try themselves in streetball. After the exercise, the coctail game lets you recover your strenght for lunch. Anybody can contend to win a cold coctail. Have a little rest at noon, because the program is soon going on.

The late successors of Robin Hood can hurry to the archery range, where anybody may become a real archer within half an hour. Or take some body exercises to make the marks of the lunch disappear. Of course, the ball can't be missed, either. Ball games help to make you feel good in the afternoon. If you prefer more peaceful activity, you can play darts or bowling.

One-Two Cha-Cha-Cha - it's never too late to learn how to dance. Professional dancing masters are awaiting those interested. No matter if it's Rumba, Samba or Walzer, after only a week everybody will move confident on the dance floor. Relax half an hour before dinner and gather strenght for the evening programs.

The pleasant summer evenings attract to evening out. The animateurs show twice a week, that they are at home at the stage, too. The evergreen Jungle Book is the favourite of the kids, the evening show is liked by the whole family. Moonlight, beach, summer - let's arrange a beach party. The orchestra of the club allures you once with romantic once with rhytmic music to dance under the starlit sky. If you don't want to stop, you can continue in the club disco, where you can enjoy yourself until daybreak. Once a week, there is an Oldie-Party or a hot Caribic-Night. Are you tired ? Take the horsedrawn vehicle to get you to wine-tasting. If you are artistic minded, you are highly recommended to walk around in the hotel lounge. You will find here works of artists, which you can also buy if you like.

Of course, cultural programs are not missing, either. Organ concert in the Monastery of Tihany or visit to the world famous porcelain manufactory of Herend.

Beyond the classical Budapest and Pusta programs, the Club offers boat-trips, country wedding with folklore program and Tsharda-Party.

If you want to try yourself, you can take a tour by bycicle or on foot to explore the beauties and historical sights of the peninsula.

Children and youth

At Club Tihany, young guests are also important guests. They have an extra club with their own animation.

Qualified personnel takes care of the children six hours a day. Many kinds of program is organised like e.g. drawing, Plasticine modelling, making dolls. The children's works can be viewed by the parents in the weekly exhibitions. Most programs - like funny games, sports or different beach games - take place in the open air. The giant slide is the main attraction among the children.

Children are looking forward excited to the pitch of the week: the horse program ! Escorted by animateurs, the children explore - without parents - Upper Balaton with horse carriage and naturally everybody can try pony-riding.

In order that the parents can record something with their cameras, the children present a dance on a beach-party once a week. After then, Mougli and Balu from the Jungle Book await the children on the open air stage. After the show, at the end of the day, the children can even take part in the Club-Dance.

No wonder, that parents have one problem less after such a day: the children sleep like a log.
